Homeopathy in Best of Medicine Debate
The British Homeopathic Association has announced that homeopathy will be included in a debate on The Best of Medicine at the Wellcome Collection in Central London this week.
The Wellcome Collection teamed up with the Spiked website to promote two debates, on the Best and Worst of Medicine. Spiked website visitors were asked to vote on which topics should be included for each category and there was a groundswell of support for homeopathy.
What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a therapeutic system which has been used for over 200 years. It works on the principle that ‘like cures like’ so an illness is treated with a substance which could produce similar symptoms in a healthy person. Homeopathic medicines are given in a highly diluted form and so are completely safe. They make an ideal medicine for children, babies and for nursing and pregnant mothers under the supervision of an appropriately qualified practitioner.
Around 170 members of the public will be asked to vote for the overall winner of the Best of Medicine category at the debate on 26 June. The result so far demonstrates the popularity of homeopathy is with the public.
The Best of Medicine debate takes place on Thursday 26 June, 19.00-21.00, at the Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Road, London NW1 2BE.
